Nationale Borg publishes 2009 results
Nationale Borg-Maatschappij has booked heeft a net profit of € 7.6 million in 2009, against € 0.3 million in 2008. The increase is the consequence of a satisfactory underwriting result and a much improved result on investments. Premium income rose 18% while exposures remained stable.
Nationale Borg is the largest non-bank provider of guarantees to the Dutch and Belgian business community and a reinsurer of guarantee and credit insurance portfolios around the globe. Guarantees are mainly issued to companies active in construction, the production of capital goods, in transportation and in the logistics, sectors that without exception have been hard-hit by the economic crisis.
CEO Jos Kroon: “Our underwriting policy is quite prudent, but we make every effort to continue to be a reliable business partner to our clients."
